Ok, so lets try to get organized here. What are you, a bunch of fuckos?

Why should we organize? you say? What the fuck are YOU doing for organization? you say.

well, I say this:

NOON
Meet at the Mission Village Flea Market (18th st. @ Florida 1 block behind CELL space) For BBQ and pregame shennanigans

1:00pm
Leave Mission Village Mkt. and Parade to 16th Mission BART Station

1:30/2:00 Get on BART and Get off at POWELL st. Station. From there we make a loop around and hang out in Union Sq. for a ReNaGaDe DaNcE PaRTy until right before we get shut down and then we book it out of there, back down Market St. and to "select locations" for fun and games with the unsuspecting public.

We are going behind enemy lines on a mission , a mission to rescue our fallen soldiers, those people who are stuck in their paradigms of conformity and repetition. (Hence the renagade)

Renagade Parade is also a celebration of each other and our diversity and the fact that we can get our shit together to hang out, have fun and tear through the city(Hence the parade)

so if you have something to contribute or and idea for a costume or better yet, crowd interaction please come and run amok with us

Things that worked: Nalgene bottles with margaritas, Candy, Pirate-flag, The Mission, Market St., Paper hats, boom box

Thngs that didn't work: Stilters on BART, changing course in the middle of the day and walking through the TL with half-naked girls, Atom's Trip, Temple's Schedule.

THings to do next time: More people...post to everyone on tribe, more water bottles with alcohol, we ran out too soon and had to buy more, more candy, a bigger boom-box and a better photogropher. We had 2 moms and not enough pix.

So thanks to everone that came out Ivy with her flags, her mom(their friend), my mom, Donna Wood with her uni, Naia with her hoop, Mikey with his bike, stilters with their....stilts?.

Next time its gonna be better, right?! We'll get this thing down yet. Who's got a bday in June?

Anyone can throw a big silly public event in the city, and some days it seems like everyone does. For sure, everyone has at least seen one. San Francisco's a wonderful place, no two ways about it, but it's kinda easy to get jaded.

Now on the other hand...if a big box truck were to pull up on the main street of, let's say, Walnut Creek or Mill Valley, and disgorge a dozen or two depraved freaks in funny costumes, who proceeded to do their thing...they SURE WOULDN'T BE EXPECTING THAT.

RTS THIS Saturday....Renegade Action

For real guys, we could make a very strong presence at RTS if we coordinate just a little bit....i have a couple of ez ideas that could give us a method in which to ineract with this event on a higher level (not JUST getting high or on stlts or both)

we show up around the same time, we all wear Red and Stripes and we have a Renegade PArade flag.

I would do all this myself but its hard enough to type it with one paw....

Hey you guys, here'e the skinny on the RTS Party, they are going to meet up at Dolores Park On Apr 2 and they're gonna march to some un-disclosed location (Probably just a couple of blocks away). Who here is going to this fine event? If its more than just a couple of people from this tribe, we should go as RP. Their theme is "Community Mutiny" so I think that Renegade ties right into that. It could be really Easy, we could meet up somewhere close (Like Sadie's HOuse...she would love that) and then just Parade our way down there, arriving just in time to collide Head-On with their "operation." I have a giant flag-stand that I got from somewhere, we could use it to set up shop....once I get a flag.

Ok....and if that wasn't enough.....St. Stupid's Parade is Apr 1.....Im gonna be there renegade style regardless and Ill bet that a couple of other stilters will too...if you people haven't had enough of the getting dressed up and crashing the City by then, then.......COME ON DOWN!!!!!

!!~ReNaGaDe PaRaDe aKa. CReaTuRe's BiRThDaY CrAsh~!! is proud to announce

.,...we have a new addition to the crew...The Party bus! (THe camo movie bus if you don't know already)

SO here's the new plan...we meet at CeLL Space Flea Market at Noon-1. We parade around the market at about 1:30 and then file directly on to the bus where it will whisk us away to far off places.....Like Dolores Park, Union Square and Fisherman's wharf!! Where will will pile out, charge through the street making lots of commotion and then file (neatly, of course) back on to the bus for more destinations. Some of them nice and pleasent, some of them behind enemy lines (Like North Beach).

All the way we'll be enjoying some delicious sangria and bumpin the tunes on the Bus that's a rolling party.

The Theme is still renegade just now with a camo bus.....The date is still MARCH 12, but now you REALLY should come.....

I want to get an idea for how many people will show up, and also, the bus and sangria work on donation systems, so Please post or PM me to let me know if you're going to come and/or can help out in some way.

Well, I have to say....Im REALLY FUCKING EXCITED about what we're proposing to do here. Just to remind everyone. There will be a pot-luck BBQ and Eating-type Hang out situation at the FLea Market from 11-1 as we get ready to get busy.

Anyone who is not sure about making it on time....don't worry, we will be getting around and you can jump on later if you like (tho, I highly recommend being there from the get-go)

Looks like we've got a good line-up. Stilters, Hot Pirate Girls, Taiko Drummers, Hula-hoopers, a big bus and a big ole tub of sangria.

Bring what you can for the the bus donation....that thing aint free..but wither way, we're gonna be on it.

Here's the skinny:

The "Mission Village Flea Market" ( www.cellspace.org/market/ ) wants to host a group of mad crazy stilters, jumpers, jugglers, spinners, hoopers, cyclists (uni, bi, tri...), drummers, shouters, clowns or whatever. They're going to hook us up with space, b-b-Q and "treats" for us to do what we do best....be our toys and play with oursleves...no, wait, be ourselves and play with our toys on a saturday afternoon.

So basically, here's the gig:
1) we all show up, hang out, do our thang, eat, drink and be merry.
2) We all get together and make a freaky little parade 'round the lot. (Its freakin huge and full of awesome stuff)

So I asks myself: "Creature, Why should we stop there? Why don't we keep rolling through the Mission and cause havoc and merriment through the streets, stirring up a ruckus, picking up the whatnot along the way and leaving a trail of people who will never quite be the same?"

Why the Fuck not, indeed!

Granted, I'll be the first to admit that I don't have a clue what the fuck I'm doing here and I don't even know if this falls under the jurisdiction of something that needs a permit...but.I don't even want to know what it takes to get a permit for a parade in this town (not yet, anywway).

What I do have is a plan...A big, stipud, megaphony plan that involves some stilts, a flag, some drums, lots of noise and a bunch of my friends/freaks all decked out, playin round, gettin down in the street.

I feel like it could happen, but I know I can't do it alone, I need all you beautiful, crazy people to help make it happen. If this is anything, its something for everyone....for us all to have for ourselves, as a group. Or, Just another reason for us to get out and shake it for the sake of shakin it!

This is not for sure yet...but, whaddya say?

I am thinking that if you were to acquire a parade and sound permit. You could mold your selves after the love parade or gay pride parade. Meaning big sound systems and large floats, nudity, large art construction and endless hard work rewarded only with a “nod” or two.
Possibly assume an “exoskeleton” approach. The purpose of which is to hang other people dreams upon.

Even if you were to shoot for a 'renegade' event (without getting in bed with the district police chief <which is not a bad idea>)

You would have an easier sell if you provided a secure structure from which everyone could feel safe in creating conceiving and hanging their dreams from.

The budget crunch has hit the cops just like everyone else.

The way that the whole festival/parade thing works (from the government’s point of view) is that the district chief is notified and worked with. From our point of view the easiest way to do it is to pay the salaries of the policemen that show up. It seems like payola but it just common courtesy. From a community point of view - We, the renegade parade committee, ensure that the neighborhood is properly protected while we celebrate life and liberty. (I can detail this better if you ask)

(If you nuance your ‘stance’ early the community resistance is muted)

We could probably use similar publicity tactics to the ones I tried to get going for Naughty Santa’s.
Laughing Squid will pay for flyers.

We go out with stilts and flyers and juggling balls and fire and flags and massive hoopla. This will be the last time I mention my “promotional theater” idea. Because sooner or later - someone will beat me to the punch.

Okay I hope I haven’t taken this in the wrong direction.
